1/4 cup baby wash (I use one without SLS/SLES)
4 drops tea tree essential oil
6 drops lavender essential oil
Most of the recipes included baby oil, and I would love to include something moisturizing in the solution, but I want to wash my wipes with my cloth diapers, and knowing the build-up that oil can create on diapers, I didn't want to risk wrecking my new inserts. I would totally use coconut oil, as it is safe for cloth diapers (I've used it on diaper rashes and it is the BEST), but since it gets chunky and hard when it's cold, I would only use it if I had a wipes warmer to keep the coconut oil in liquid form.
I am using baby washcloths that I got at my baby shower for my first child -they are small and soft, but wipe messes up nicely. You could also make your own by sewing squares of flannel.
I love the smell of the essential oils and it is nice to know exactly what is going on my childs' skin.
Next on my list, after I've used up my current supply, is to make my own face powder and blush.
What 'green' changes are you proud of making? And what is next on your list??
*As I had this post in draft form a couple days ago, I read a post on Northwest Edible that echoes my thoughts, though with a focus on food. I love how Erica breaks down each section and gives idea for simplifying, and also how she 'allows' me to choose the things that matter most to me to focus on, rather than having to radically change everything in my life. For now, I will let someone else make cheese for me.
