And, although it's NOT my favorite season, I find myself enjoying these first few days of being 'shut in', and looking excitedly ahead to days of truly being snowed in - the cold makes the warmth inside so much warmer, the comfort of family and quiet evenings at home so cozy. I have to admit to wishing I could start my Christmas baking already (though I think I'll wait a few more weeks) and I've been looking up recipes on the internet for Christmas tree ornaments.
Right now, I'm enjoying this in-between period; this not-quite-winter-definitely-not-fall period. Very soon, the stress of Christmas will make me crazy for a bit and I won't notice the warm coziness for awhile. Even though I love the holiday season, I find it stressful every year - trying to find gifts for people who have everything (this year I'm making as many as possible - that's sure to add to my stress!), attempting to fit four different family things into the seven days surrounding Christmas day itself, and still getting to start some Christmas traditions with my own small family. So, for now, let the winds blow, I'll sit back and plan, and enjoy this window of coziness given to me.
