i finally got my garden in a week or two ago - my WHOLE garden including my bedding plants...it was a lovely HOT, SUNNY day and it was perfect (if a tad muddy) for planting stuff outside. i was PUMPED! i'm planting SO many different things this year, including bedding plants that i started from seeds in the last grey days of winter. despite the fact that most of the corn that i had planted before the first long stint of rain didn't come up, the garden looked so nice. big, but nice. and then our day in the sun was over and it rained. a few days later when the sun peeked out from behind the clouds again i went to check on the plants - there they were, still alive. and then it rained...AGAIN. on sunday i went out to check on my little plants again and most of them are drowned out. my little tomato plants, tomatillos, broccoli, cauliflower, ground cherries...all but the peppers are limp stems bent over in the mud, giving in to the endless grey and wet. i'd show you, but i don't have the heart to take pictures of my fallen comrades.
